Meet The

Director

Kira Thiphavong is a Laotian-Canadian female Writer/Director from Nova Scotia, Canada. Kira’s director debut film If You Say Too Much has sparked a new buzz amongst the independent cinema space.

If You Say Too Much was the teams first narrative film we created together, so I got the inspiration out of both of my coworkers. They wanted our main location to be a big field in Ladner, and my talented actress Saba Askari, gave me lots of inspiration for her character. Since this was during covid, we wanted as small a cast as possible. I couldn’t have done it without my teams prompt, which started this whole thing.”

If You Say Too Much will impact people because dreaming is everyone’s way of escaping reality. It can tell you a lot about yourself, your secrets, your desires, your needs.”

“The writing process was fun because I had complete freedom. It’s the only time where I can completely indulge in my own fantasies, and sort of live in it. I love fantasies so creating a world within that is exciting to me.”

“Everyone Has Had A Dream That They’ve Never Forgotten, And This One Just Happens To Be Margo’s..”
