‘I Am, For You’ Gains Recognition Across Major Screenplay Competitions

Yearbook Films is thrilled to share that founder, Saba Askari’s screenplay, ‘I Am, For You’, has made waves in the screenplay competition circuit. The script has been recognized as a semi-finalist in multiple prestigious programs, including Outstanding Screenplays – Shorts 2024, the Screencraft Virtual Pitch Fall 2024, and the Shore Scripts Short Film Fund.

In addition, ‘I Am, For You’ ranks in the top 1% of scripts on Coverfly, reflecting both its emotional resonance and strong storytelling.

The story explores the complex landscape of immigrant guilt, following a young girl grappling with the weight of familial expectation, cultural displacement, and personal responsibility. At its core, the screenplay is a meditation on belonging, identity, and the weight of the guilt one carries as she continues to live the life her family fought for her to have.

These recognitions not only validate the story’s emotional impact but also mark a significant step for Yearbook Films in bringing meaningful, character-driven stories to life. We are excited to continue developing ‘I Am, For You’ and look forward to sharing its journey on screen.
